About Me

Finally a good housewife

Today I was off, and I was a good little housekeeper. I decided it is time to clean the apartment from top to bottom and so I put on my rubber gloves and dived in.

I started in the kitchen and organized the food in the cupboard and in the fridge. I wiped the counter and scrubbed the stove and the oven. I put a bowl of water with slices of lemon in the microwave oven and put the time on for 5min. That way the steam melts the cooked food on microwave walls and the lemons take the nasty odour away.

I moved to the hallway and wiped all the door knobs, and around knobs, I organized shoes and all the coats that were overflowing in the coat closet. I took the vacuum cleaner and vacuum the kitchen and the hall.

I attacked the living room, dusted every corner, shake the couch covers through the window and fluffed the pillows, I wiped the table and TV and I could smell the difference already. I vacuum the room as well and gave a bit more attention to the carpet as we have Mr. Jack and his hair all over.
My last but not least task for the day was the big bad bathroom, where we have, because of the damp, problems with mould, but remembering a good tip from my Mamma  I used an old toothbrush and some toothpaste and brush all the nasty blackness of the lovely tiles.

I cleaned the tub and the basin and scrubbed the toilet till sparkling clean. I disposed all the empty bottles, changed all the towels, put a new WC tablet and wiped the floor.

The day was nice so I opened all the widows, did tons of laundry and hanged it outside on the rack.
Not to mention I found the time to play with Jack, baked my muffins and prepared dinner.

If I haven’t adapted in the new role of housewife today I don’t know when I did.
