Last week I ordered
some books for this project and they finally arrived. Of course the
Perfect wives in ideal homes by Virginia Nicholson was my inspiration
but I need more information on the topic and I need more tips and tricks
how to do it. Although my Mamma and Nona are very helpful I still need a
bit of 50’s inspired tips that were written in that time or were very
inspired by that time.
So I finally got the following books:
I know that these titles are just what I need and you know what, they are helpful little things too. So far they taught me how to improve my posture, set the dinner table, make my own foot cream and how to wash some very stubborn stains on Robert’s greasy work clothes.
On the other side my use of bad, bad swear words is still present and I think it’ll take more than a book to stop me…
Maybe a pearl necklace so Robert can take it away if I’m misbehaving, it would be very in the 1950’s housewife and hot shot husband style. Unfortunately I don’t have one or have the intention to poses one so it will be a no go. I’ll have to think something else but I’m open to any suggestions.
So far so good.
So I finally got the following books:
- • Wartime Housewife by Biff Raven-Hill
- • Betty Cornell’s teen-age popularity guide
- • How to be the perfect Housewife by Anthea Turner
